I started this blog in August 2010 after coming out of my longest relationship. I’ve always enjoyed writing so while trying to get back into the dating world a friend encouraged me to start a blog about my dating adventures. And so it began!
At times I love dating and at other times I hate it. Mostly I realise it’s a great way to meet people, have a fun experience and hopefully end with a funny tale to tell. One of my favourite TV shows was like a blog in the form of a column and what I loved is when I could relate to the story. So hopefully you know what it’s like to be single in Canberra, whether you are or were.
I’m currently in a relationship with a super sweet guy (you can read about our first date here) and have no intentions of stopping writing. Instead I get to expand on the ups and downs of a new relationship. From meeting the parents, to weekends away and seeing each other drunk for the first time.
In between that I’ll also talk about Canberra, review restaurants, share my opinion on things and whatever else may pop up.
In April of 2013 I took the leap of starting up a monthly online magazine the Big Ink, thanks to my wonderful readers I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback and it’s still continuing.
I’ve completed a Cert IV in Freelance Journalism and a Cert IV in Makeup Artistry; I have a dog that I spoil, a best friend who I adore and my token gay best friend who inspires me every day.
I believe Canberra has a high number of prudish public servants that hate the idea of my blog (just see what happened comments were written at Riot Act).
My dream is to one day be paid to write and to see my name in print in a publication, not followed by the words ‘died of an STD related illness’.
I am already grateful for the people I’ve met through it, from Twitter to friends of friends who have enjoyed the good and the bad with me, who have shared kind words, you helped a stranger.
